The Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens series has been running since 2009 and is for cars based on the Lotus Seven design, including Caterham, MK, Lotus, Westfield, Tiger, Dax, Stuart Taylor, Raw, Locost and similar type cars. The series has grown so much in popularity that it is now split into two separate groups allowing the lower powered Sevens to compete for an overall win. Group 1 is for cars with engines producing upto 152bhp and group 2 is for cars with engines producing over 152bhp. There are 4 classes for group 1 cars and 8 classes in group 2.
Following the standard CSCC series format the races are run over forty minutes and include a mandatory 1 minute pit-stop. A 30 minute qualifying session will take place on the same day. Entries may be from single drivers, two drivers sharing a single car or two drivers in two cars. New for 2017 will see an additional 15 minute sprint race offered to Sevens drivers at Snetterton and Thruxton to see if these prove popular.
An outright race winning car/driver (Groups 1 and 2) will start from the pit-lane when he or she next enters a race. This penalty will only be applied for one race or until that person wins another race outright.
