Brands Britannia meeting opens tomorrow

Returning for its second year, the live-streamed Brands Britannia runs on Sunday 25th and Bank Holiday Monday 26th August. Entries open tomorrow at Midday (Tuesday 18th) to this special, themed event.

The timetable is a little different, with qualifying for most categories taking place on the Sunday, so that a full day of racing takes place on the Monday, in front of a large crowd of British car enthusiasts and clubs. Those racing only on the Sunday get to leave in good time. All races are live-streamed on the CSCC YouTube Channel and Facebook Page.

The lunchbreak on Monday is a treat, firstly, demonstration laps from the ex-Le Mans Jaguar XJR-9, followed by a public grid walk for Mintex Classic K and Mike Hawthorn Jaguar Challenge.

Anyone who has attended one of MSV's special, themed events knows they do them well. Expect Britishness everywhere: red buses, bunting, the food; last year we even had Morris dancers on the grid!

Trying to fit everyone in on the Indy, whilst keeping prices to a sensible level is always a challenge. 20 minutes of qualifying for some is less than we'd like, but with the Indy being a quick lap, it still ensures most two-driver teams get 8 or 9 laps each.

The Berkshire Jag Components Jaguar Championship has stand-alone qualifying and races for this meeting.

MG Trophy have two qualifying sessions and two races, this time with a split finish, something new to the CSCC. This will mean that our Advantage Motorsport Future Classics and Modern Classics have more breathing room for the second half of their races.

To maximise numbers, the all-Sevens grid will be a combination of those running the harder, Gold Arts Magnificent Sevens compliant tyres, as well as those on the stickier 'Open Series' rubber.

Liqui Moly Slicks have two sprint races this time, rather than their more usual pit-stop race.
